Case Studies

Horses

Ex race horse - unable to work on the right rein, was short in his stride and reluctant to work. Following a thermal scan we identified an injury to the shoulder and followed up with LLLT treatments. The pictures show the initial injury and the results 3 treatments later. He is now competing successfully in both dressage and showjumping disciplines.

6yr old Dutch warmblood with unexplained intermittent lameness. Client asked us to scan the horse upon which a splint was identified. LLLT was applied and the leg was scanned to monitor improvement. Horse is now back in full work.

Dogs

Ben - a 140lb Rottweiler who sustained a cruciate ligament injury. Surgery was an option but due to his size and weight, concerns were raised over his recovery, after such a serious operation. Bens owners opted for a course of Low Level Laser The 1st scan shows the area immediately after the injury and following weekly treatments for 3 months the 2nd scan shows the improvement. Treatment continued for 4 months (twice a month) and now he is completely back to normal.

Humans

When we first visited Barbara she presented with severe arthritis in the fingers of both hands. They were inflamed and very tender and painful. There was limited mobility in her hands and she was unable to close her hands to make a clenched fist. Weekly treatments were carried out for 4 weeks, then reducing to fortnightly for 6 weeks. At the end of this course of treatments, Barbara was able to clench her fists and was pain free, She was even able to return to playing golf.  As arthritis is a degenerative disease, LLLT is unable to reverse the process, but the pain and inflammation can be controlled with LLLT. In Barbara’s case she now has a top-up treatment every 6 weeks.

Caroline- a bubbly fun loving lady whose life had been debilitated for several years by severe sciatica. When she first contacted us, she was not sleeping properly due to the pain. 5 LLLT treatments were carried out by which time she was pain free and looking forward to having a normal lifestyle. We did return to see her some 8 months later when the sciatica returned and two further treatments ensued to set her back up again. However, she did admit to riding pillion on numerous scooter rallies and dancing a lot, something she had never dreamt she would do again.
